In Deeper with Christy Gissendaner’s heroine, Celeste Proctor

Today on my blog, I welcome Celeste Proctor from the recently released (December 26th!) novel, In Deeper. She is Christy Gissendaner’s heroine, and despite her busy schedule, Celeste generously agreed to a character interview. But first, what is her book about? Here’s the blurb:

In Deeper_Christy GissendanerThe alpha’s brother has met his match.

Celeste Proctor always had the best of everything—expensive homes, fashionable clothing, and the coveted position of beta to the most powerful of all lycans, Drake Randolph. But after the alpha chose another to be his bride, Celeste is left without a mate. She needs one, and fast—the stronger, the better–to maintain her carefully cultivated position. One of the alpha’s brothers will have to do, but which one?

Micah Randolph has always lived in the shadow of his oldest brother. With his country music career heating up, Micah is looking forward to a whirlwind tour and achieving his own success, separate from his position within the powerful Randolph family. When the beautiful yet untouchable Celeste Proctor shows up, determined to mate with him or his twin brother, he has a choice to make: pursue the dream he’s worked so hard to achieve, or be drawn back into pack politics as the mate of a woman looking only to secure her rank in the pack? But the way she makes him feel when she looks at him…can he make her want him for more than his strong, lycan blood?

Sound good? Yeah, I think so too! This is definitely one for the TBR. Now, let’s hear from Celeste. I’m dying to know what’s going through her mind in this book.

Tami’s Thoughts: Hello, Celeste. Welcome to my blog. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me about your just released novel, In Deeper.

Celeste: You’re welcome. I think my story is worth telling, so I’m happy to give you some details about it.

TT: Excellent. Well, tell us about yourself. Do you consider yourself your author’s muse or bane of her/his existence?

Celeste: Actually I think Christy and I are very compatible. We’re both raging workaholics. We understand each other’s need for perfection.

TT: What do you think readers like best about you? Worst?

Celeste: Readers seem to resonate with my love-hate relationship with Micah Randolph. I’m the ex-fiance of Drake Randolph, so in his book, I’m quite positive that readers wanted to hate me for being the “other woman”. Few may have realized then that Micah has always grabbed my attention.

TT: Sounds like you have a lot to overcome in this book. I take it you aren’t mated then?

Celeste: At the moment, I’m engaged. My wedding is coming very soon though!

TT: Congratulations! Let’s have a little naughty fun. Favorite place to seduce your partner?

Celeste: I know it’s totally unoriginal, but a hotel room always seems to be the scene of my seductive wiles. If you ask Micah though, his answer would be a deserted beach.

TT: Micah’s idea sounds romantic. Well, really, they both do! Is there anything you wish Micah understood better about you?

Celeste: I wish he understood my need to strive for perfection and make Proctor Publications the best it can be.

TT: Fair request. If you could rewrite one scene in the book, what would it be? How would you rewrite?

Celeste: Easy one! I can’t believe I got shot.

TT: Yikes! Obviously you’re okay, thank goodness. I’m curious to read that scene, though. Along the same note, has Christy ever put you into an embarrassing situation? How did you handle it?

Celeste: Well…honestly? Losing Drake was pretty embarrassing, even though it was for the best.

TT: Glad to hear it. Is there anything specific in this book of which you are particularly proud?

Celeste: I’m quite pleased with my growth, both personally and romantically.

TT: That’s certainly something to be proud of. Before we wrap up this interview, would you like to add anything else?

Celeste: I’m curious to see what happens to my future brother-in-law Max.

Ooh, that sounds like a future book. How exciting!
