I’ve found your next rainy day read. Why yes, the title of the book is When Clouds Gather. Why yes, that’s what inspired the theme of this blog.
Let’s be honest: What’s your favorite time to read? Okay, besides anytime. Rainy days, right? I get it. I feel the same way. There is nothing quite as therapeutic as curling up on the couch/in the bed, wearing jammies, your hair twisted up on top of your head and secured with a band. My personal preference is to have a glass (bottle – so I have to get up less often) of wine nearby, but I recognize not everyone (crazy people) share that same attraction. I also like a little background music, but that (unlike the wine) isn’t necessary.
The book, however, is. Doesn’t matter if it’s a real, legit paperback or (gasp!) hardcover, or whether it’s a Kindle, Nook, iPad, or the reading app on your smart phone (although holy God, my phone is getting smaller as my eyes get older!). What really matters is: there’s rain, you’ve called in sick to the office (we’ll vouch for you), there are jammies, preferably wine (it’s wine o’clock somewhere), and a book.
How about this one? When Clouds Gather is aptly named, don’t you think? Want to know what it’s about, before you download it to your e-reader? Here you go:
Darby Adams has a happy life operating a Bed & Breakfast Inn at quiet Driftwood Shores, raising her son and caring for a menagerie of stray pets. Until she finds a dead guest in one of her rooms–murdered. Suddenly her home and business is turned into a crime scene and she is the number one suspect. Caught in a whirlwind, she needs a strong friend.
The surviving family wants justice so they hire new-in-town Sam Golden, Private Investigator, to find the facts and have Darby put away for good. Sam begins his case in a dual role, as a PI and acting as a friend for Darby. Strong feelings unexpectedly and mutually develop, as strange, scary, things happen around the B & B. Sam has to rethink his original opinions on Darby’s guilt or innocence. Darby has to consider the future of her business and the future lives of herself and her son. Attraction to Sam only complicates her already overwhelming life.
Then the day comes Sam is forced to tell Darby the truth about his job, pulling them apart. A new threat rises, forcing Darby to turn to Sam one more time. She has to trust him to survive this challenge, but can she trust him with her heart?

Tami, thank you for hosting me. I absolutely love your font! What is it??
And yes, I love rainy days to curl up on the porch, listen to the rain and either read a great book or write something.
