On today’s Appetizing April blog, you get a character interview and an author interview! It is my pleasure to introduce Susan Behon, author of Fall For You, available now through Liquid Silver Books. First, let’s hear from Reed Sutton, the hero from Fall For You, who has a thing for the owner of the local bakery, Cookie Jar. Then we’ll hear from Susan, the creative force behind this fabulous book.
*
TT: Tell us about yourself. Do you consider yourself your author’s muse or bane of her existence?
RS: My name is Reed Sutton. Since coming home from the Navy, I’ve taken over management of my family’s construction company. I’d have to say I’m Susan Behon’s muse. She loves to write about me since I make an awesome book boyfriend. What? It’s true!
TT: Ha ha. I love an awesome book boyfriend. Especially one with a sense of humor. With that said, what will readers like the best about you?
RS: Readers will like my sense of romance and my drive to make Sophie Brandon mine. Did I mention I like to talk dirty during love scenes?
TT: Funny, sexy, determined, and talks dirty? Oh my, you are a true book boyfriend! Who is the lucky lady in your book?
RS: Sophie Brandon is in my sights as the future Mrs. Sutton. She runs a bakery called the Cookie Jar in our hometown of Madison Falls. I’d have to say that she has it all: Beauty, brains, and a heart of gold. Did I mention she’s also sexy as hell?
TT: Maybe you are both lucky, eh? Okay, you seem like you’d be up for a little naughty fun. Favorite place to seduce your partner?
RS: My favorite, so far, is the cab of my pickup truck. We, uh, got creative since we missed out on making out back in high school. Don’t tell Sophie I told you that.
TT: My lips are sealed. What do you wish Sophie understood about you?
RS: I wish Sophie would understand that she’s my top priority and no one will keep us apart.
TT: You sound determined. Another check in the positive book boyfriend category. Tell me this, if you could rewrite one scene in the book, what would it be? How would you rewrite it?
RS: I would rewrite the scene where Sophie and I get hot and bothered in the storeroom. I would cut out the part where my best friend, Ben, interrupts us.
TT: Oh no! Speaking of, any other embarrassing situations in your book?
RS: I mention Sophie’s decorative underwear in front of my family. I was in the hospital so no one can hold it against me.
TT: Yes, I think we can say you were under duress! Is there anything specific in this book of which you are particularly proud?
RS: Well, there is the interlude in the truck…
TT: And there’s that sense of humor again… All right, it’s time to wrap up this interview. Would you like to add anything else?
RS: Read Fall For You and get to know me. You’ll love Sophie too.
Now, let’s learn about the fascinating lady who came up with Reed’s story!
TT: Let’s start with the basics. Tell us a little about yourself.
SB: I graduated summa cum laude with a B. A. in English and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I put my career on pause while I enjoyed the glamorous life of being a stay at home mom. My high school sweetheart is also my husband of over 20 years. I also confess that I have a mad addiction to romance novels and Reese’s Cups.
TT: Now, tell us one incredibly strange or unique thing about you.
SB: I’m a green eyed, left handed, triplet. I was the first born and runt of the “litter.” 🙂
TT: Wow, that’s definitely unique! Okay, are you a pet person?
SB: At this time, I have geriatric dog named Max. He made a guest role in Fall For You as Sophie’s dog. Sophie’s Max was much smarter but I love my Max anyway.
TT: I understand. The newest addition to my family, Kaya, was featured in one of my books, too. How about seasons – winter or summer?
SB: I am a summer girl! I am usually freezing from October through April. I’m a big fan of heat and sunshine.
TT: Okay, one more: red or white?
SB: If we’re talking wine, I adore merlot and moscato. To be honest, I prefer the cheap Arbor Mist fruity flavors with the twist cap bottles to the real stuff.
TT: Hey, everybody has a favorite. I’m a big fan of wine, and my tastes vary from $4 bottles to far more than I have a right to spend on a bottle. Now, let’s get to the books. In which genre (s) do you write?
SB: I write contemporary romance.
TT: Is there anything specific that inspires you? How did you come up with the idea behind Fall For You?
SB: I get my ideas and inspiration from real life. I am an observer of human nature and I find that truth really is stranger than fiction. The idea for my last book is based on a real life dive behind a table of bread in an effort to avoid being seen at the grocery store. The rest is completely made up.
TT: How many books have you written?
SB: I have written two books and have a third in progress. The first book, Fall For You, Book One in the Madison Falls series, was released on March 2. The second book, More Than Words, is due out May 11, 2015.
Fall For you is a contemporary romance set in the small town of Madison Falls. Sophie Brandon and Reed Sutton heat up her bakery when they run into each other again.
The second book, More Than Words, is a continuation of the series. Ben Carrington and Tracy King get their turn at love.
TT: Readers love to know: how steamy is Fall For You?
SB: According to LSBooks, it’s rated a level 2 Spicy. The relationships are definitely consummated in detail, repeatedly. 🙂
TT: Excellent! Er… *clears throat* That was a little excited, eh? Is this book part of a series?
SB: This book is part of the Madison Falls Series. It is set in the small town of Madison Falls. Reed Sutton is back in town after 8 years in the service. The construction manager is home to stay and cookie baker, Sophie Brandon, is undeniably drawn to him.
Each book follows their friends and family as they get their chance at true love.
TT: Do you have a favorite excerpt you want to share here?
SB: Here’s a quick teaser:
Reality intruded when Sophie realized she was covered in powdered sugar, the heel of her shoe was jammed under a shelf, and Reed hadn’t let go of her yet. The bad news was that her chance at wowing him with her frilly green sundress had bit the dust. The good news, obviously, was that Reed hadn’t let go of her yet.
TT: Oh my, that’s great! Do you have a website? How about social media? How can your newest fans stalk you?
SB: I’m everywhere! 🙂 You can find me at:

TT: Now, before they get lost in Reed and Sophie’s story, ask my blog readers a question, which they can answer in the comments below.
SB: What is the sexiest quality/attribute that you look for in a romantic hero?
TT: I think I’ve already answered this question for myself, above. Can’t wait to read what others think. Okay, Susan, thank you for joining us today! Now, for the important question: How can we read your books?
